Milšped Group at the opening of the Sino-European High-Speed railway joint center
The arrival of the first freight train on the new line directly from Shandong Province in China, was marked by a formal ceremony at the terminal in Inđija on Saturday, September 7, 2024, in the presence of officials, officially opening the Sino-European High-Speed railway joint center.
The new line is the result of Milšped Group's collaboration with METRANS and the Chinese company Shandong Hi-Speed, further expanding and strengthening Milšped’s global intermodal network.
For this occasion, Nebojša Krivokuća, CEO of Milšped Group, stated that the company continuously invests in rail freight transport, which is a significantly more environmentally friendly mode of business due to lower CO2 emissions compared to other forms of transport. Currently, this mode of transport provides the most favorable ratio between cost and speed for goods transportation. This advantage contributes to reducing overall logistics costs and enhances business efficiency.
“Rail transport enables a significant reduction in delivery time from China to Europe compared to sea freight. Milšped utilizes these benefits to ensure faster delivery and greater efficiency in global supply chains, providing its clients with competitive advantages,” Krivokuća emphasized, noting that a freight train on this line takes an average of just about 22 days.
Milšped China company, a member of the Milšped Group, has been extensively using this mode of transport due to the faster and more efficient flow of goods, thanks to short transit times, arrival frequency of twice a week, and a high capacity of up to 40 containers per train.
This business endeavor is another in a series of successful projects by the Milšped Group and METRANS. The opening of the Sino-European High-Speed railway Joint Center in Inđija represents a significant step forward in building more stable and efficient international supply chain system. With this project, Milšped Group once again reaffirms its commitment to improving rail transport in the region as well as its dedication to implementing sustainable transport.
